Is a collaboration between my Mom, Deborah Sliker and I, consisting of 84 miniature oil and pastel paintings inspired by the Overview Effect. The overview effect is a term used to define the overwhelming emotions felt by astronauts as they gaze back upon our planet from the infinite darkness of space, including feeling humbled, grateful, and forever markedly transformed.

 

In The Little Things, we seek to transform perspectives. Highlighting some of the little things we see and experience in life that give us appreciation and gratitude for the limited time we have on earth.  We wanted to create something positive in response to the seemingly endless negativity of the past few years.

 

We hope these little paintings are reminders of the countless moments that delicately enrich us, fleeting and precious, that too often go unnoticed as we hurry through our lives. It is often the small-scale miracles that comprise the weight of the human experience, shaping and defining us as we walk through this world.
